Video: For Beautiful VJ Video Clips, Check out Beeple on Vimeo!
Video is probably the last major frontier of Creative Commons. Unlike photos and text, large video sites like YouTube and Vimeo seem to be hesitant about allowing easy creative commons tagging, which means finding remixable video is usually a matter of going to lesser known video sites like Blip.tv, or finding video on photo specialist sites that allow easy tagging, like Flickr and Picasa.
Fortunately, there are individuals using the better known video sites to distribute video using creative commons licenses that they attach themselves. One excellent example of this is Beeple, who shares dozens of beautiful clips for VJing through his homepage and his Vimeo page using the CC-BY license.

How To Get Your Music Noticed on Jamendo!
Hey everyone, another day, another blog. As part of my preparations for this, I've been listening to a LOT of Jamendo music. I'm always surprised at how much great stuff there is to be dug up in what's there. I also have many personal friends I know who use that site.
One thing I've noticed is that many people I know have great music that should be listened to more, but seems to lie undiscovered, even with great comments and ratings. Having now used the site a lot, I've noticed a few things that successful artists on the site do that ensures their music is picked up by the widest possible audience.
Here are my suggestions for getting your music as widely heard as possible on Jamendo.

Lawrence Lessig Talks About Free Remixable Culture
Lawrence Lessig is the founder of Creative Commons and considered by many to be (incorrectly) "anti-copyright" and a figure of the US far left. He framed a TED Talk he gave here interestingly, showing perhaps that Democrats are complacent thinking that they are on the side of free culture, and showing that perhaps Republicans are really the ones to look to for protection of social culture against encroaching corporate lobbied cultural restrictions being championed by Democrats (click below to read more).

Introduction to Remixable Web Content
So, what are we talking about when we talk about "Creative Commons web content"?
Basically, we are talking about websites that expressly allow forwarding and reprinting of content with proper credit given.
Nowadays, it's so easy to cut and paste news stories, blog articles and other web content that many bloggers do so without really thinking about it. However, much the same as in the case of music and film companies, news media companies have recently begun to express their dissatisfaction with the fact that many bloggers who do well enough to make a nice side income, or even an entire living off their blogs do so using a lot of content from news sites without any permission (click below to read more).
